Anybody know of a website or store that sells the new Mizzou football helmets? Helmets are the one piece of memorabilia that a collect, and I haven't been able to find one.

I should also add that I know there are places on eBay that have them, but those are usually generic helmets where the seller puts the sticker on themselves.

LINK

I would bet that helmet is "noncompetitive" and has a metal bar across the middle so it can't be worn.

The owner of that store posts on tigerboard - fromkctocomo is his handle if you want to get a hold of him

If you want an authentic helmet your best bet is to go out and buy a real black helmet and contact to equipment manager to see if you can purchase a set of helmet stickers and put them on yourself.

Here is onefrom the online team store, but looking at the pic it looks like the center stripes aren't there.

Thanks for the help the helmet thread got me thinking about it again. I prefer to get authentic but, not if its missing a major component for being authentic.

It's funny cause I called the team store last fall to buy myself an early Xmas present and the lady told me that they don't sell helmets.

I've found out on a couple occasions that the online store and the actual team store do not carry all of the same products.

I went to the Vandy game hoping to buy the baseball cap the team wears and could not find one, but online you can buy three variation of the baseball cap

here is a pic of that same helmet from the Riddell website
I think it does have the stripes because you can barely see one of them on the tip top of the helmet

I wonder if any of these would be available at the Spring Game in the big equipment sale?

As was said, I'm pretty sure no one sells true team football helmets for liability reasons. The best I was able to do was to come up with one that just can't be worn.

The AD auctions off used equipment. That maybe the only option for "authentic" helmets.

I personally am good friends with a Mizzou store owner who sells Authentic Mizzou helmets--regular and alternate. I can refer you to him if you're interested

This is the guy I was talking about in my previous post. I have filled in for him at his store on multiple occasions. He does sell the "non-competitive" type with a metal bar but if I recall correctly he also has helmets without it (although I'll need to double check with him tomorrow whether that's correct).

Thanks to both of you. I'll pass on his info to my wife so she knows what to buy me for my bday. The bars in the helmet aren't too difficult to remove if you have a wide enough flathead.
