Pretty noble of Dan to let Koenning keep his job, since he couldn't find one elsewhere so he could land on his feet and such

"Kept job" = demoted to QB coach for Russell's senior year. He's done calling plays.
It's well, well known that he was job shopping last year and was scared to death that he was going to become the first guy that Mullen had straight up fired when he wasn't getting any bites. He instead accepted a demotion and got desperate on the recruiting trail--and he's killing it right now. TIFWIW.
