There's genuine excitement
I realize there is excitement. Excitement is different than expectation and ceiling.
LSU, Bama, UGA, UF and aTm have much higher ceilings than Ole Miss could or ever will have relative to sustainable national powers that are in contention for national titles year in and out.
If Ole Miss lands all of those that are leans or that are up in the air currently, they will have out-recruited all of the aforementioned schools.
It just doesn't make sense.

Don't know or care what he does. Just glad he is doing it and hope he continues. I think the key is that he loves recruiting and never stops. I'm all for it. That and he proved that he can do pretty well with the young squad we already have. Things are definately looking up.

True, but excitement can alter one's perceptions of expectations and ceilings.
A lot of y'all need to read some books on recruiting. Meat Market for starters and then The Courting of Marcus Dupree. You'll see that a lot of the things that we think recruits care about ("Well we done went to the Sugar Bowl last year what gives recruits should love us!!?") aren't a big deal to a lot of them.
Most of them want a chance to be close to home, a chance to play, and an environment that their parents and high school coaches (so many of these kids look up to their coaches - you gotta recruit the coaches too) approve of. Hugh Freeze can promise that. Now, if a kid really does want to win a BCS title, then of course he's going to Alabama. But if he wants a place that his momma is happy with him being at, then is it much of a surprise that such a personable guy like Freeze can win him over?
