and you keep proving that you can't actually have a conversation without resorting to name-calling and jabs at Ole Miss. Congrats at being a douche. If you can explain why Tubb's tenure at Auburn was such a massive failure, please try.

while it is name calling, it's also about as factual as anything you've provided.

tit for tat?

again you've been the only one to say that, becuase it was dismissed that he was wildly successful and shouldn't have been fired to he's a massive failure. It's a good strategy (for the weak willed), keep upping the ante so you never really have to get tied down to a position.

I would be glad to get in a discussion with someone worth discussing with. You are not that person. Just suffice to say the fact you need me to explain the Tubs situation says it all.

I just reached the end of page two, so apologies if some of this has already been brought up, but:

1) Tubs was fired because he quit when Saban came to Tuscaloosa. He gave up on recruiting, spent most of his offseason in a duck blind in Arkansas, and never would cut ties the barbeque buddies he put on the coaching staff. He lost his fire. I've got some mutual friends of the family who say they saw him around a whole lot more the last year or two he was here than any time before that. Can't blame him for wanting to spend time with his family, but when he's not getting the job done, then he's not getting the job done.

2) Chizik was fired - and the Malzahn hire only reinforces this hypothesis - because it became increasingly clear that he wasn't the reason behind the national championship, and when the guys keeping him afloat left (Malzahn, Rocker, Fairley, and Cam), he sank like a rock. Going winless in the conference is inexcusable regardless of the circumstances, but the fact that said circumstances stacked up against him only provided more grounds for his termination.

3) Jacobs will be gone very soon. He called in some favors to some big boosters that let him keep his job until he gets his 25 years in sometime this spring. He's a terrible AD, but a good enough guy and we'll see a new face running the athletic department here before too long.

4) Malzahn has proven he is running the place. He had already fired all of Chizik's coaches, and today he released all but two members of the remaining support staff. He's cleaning as much of the house as he's allowed to, which is exactly what this program needs. Even Yoxall (who was the strength & conditioning coach for the entire athletic department, not just football) was let go.
