Dannon Cavil decommitted this morning and will be enrolling in January at California per 247 and rivals. Not good at all. I thought we were supposed to be picking up steam in recruiting, not losing guys. Tough loss.

Never mind, we lost him. Academics won for him it seems. Oh well, you can't win them all and wr isn't a position of need.

We will get some guys on our defensive line. Not a big deal. Freeze has already showed he can coach up. Even if we didn't win another recruit in the home stretch we already have a good class

I agree. However, still sucks to lose this kid. I was looking forward to watching him play. I'll make a point to keep up with his progress at cal.

we had room to sign 29 this class, which means only four count back. We have more than 4 that could count back in Mireless, Whitchett, Morgan, Reed, Dodson and any other JUCO( Hooks, Z) plus the couple other early HS grads. We let this kid to guys, good lord

I think Cavil is a good talent, and it would have been nice to get him in early and start developing him. Granted, if losing him means we gain the likes of LT, Coley, etc. then I'm obviously fine with it. FTR I didn't say "this sucks." That would imply our entire situation sucks... It doesn't.

Question: why would we let him sign financial aid papers if we weren't 100% on the kid?

We wouldn't give him FA papers to sign then push him to call. He chose Cal over us and Freeze said ok.

Reed isnt a early enrollee. He wont get here till May or June. Which is why getting Hooks is so important.
We signed 19 last year, shouldnt we have 6 to count back? Leaving us with 31 to sign this year and Brassell doesnt count?

Correct and that corner and kicker count as two of the six. Four left and we have like 7 that we could count back, but you can only count 4 back. 25+4=29
