Shaun and Kristers were given multiple opportunities just by Coach Ray alone. He had no choice but to kick them off.
It isn't Ray's fault that he was left a depleted team and players that won't listen to the coach despite multiple chances. Ray has to change the interior and exterior of this program. Stans completely ruined it in nearly two years. Now Ray has to build it all back up. I think Ray of all people wished he didn't have to kick them off but they gave him no choice through their on action. I commend him for taking the right stand. Why do exactly what led to the prior coaches downfall?
