Oh I guess I missed the part where the Heisman was given to the better NFL player.

I'll give you that he should have won it over Troy Smith. Remember though in 2006, the Big Ten was supposedly the best conference by a longshot, so no matter what, the winner of Ohio State/Michigan would win the Heisman.

The reason that Tebow won in 2007 was the following:

1. There was no finalist from one of the championship contenders.

2. Chase Daniel lost badly in the Big 12 title game.

3. The other finalists were on 9 or 8 win teams.

4. Tebow put up such obscene numbers, both in touchdowns and total yardage.
