I would agree Bielema came into a better situation than Saban did, and I never contended he was a better coach. My OP was that he added to the all star coaching roster in the SEC, and I stand by that assertion. If you look at the last seven years he has consistently kept his team nationally relevant and I think he should be considered one of the top coaches in football. Everyone downgrading the hire doesn't know much about college football outside of their school apparently.

they may have had the easiest schedule in history in '06 and lost to their toughest opponent.
'07 lost to Penn St., OSU, and UT. beat the cupcakes
'08 lost to UM, OSU, Penn St, FL State. beat the cupcakes. went to OT with Cal Poly
'09 lost to OSU and Iowa. beat the cupcakes but finally won a bowl
'10 good year with some good wins. lost bowl again
'11 decent season. lost bowl again
'12 lost to every decent team on their schedule not named Nebraska. finished 6th in the Big10, 3rd in division
but obviously everyone that thinks it wasn't a great hire doesn't know shite about football

37-19 in the big ten isn't impressive enough to call him anything other than a decent coach in a terrible conference
Further, he runs the score up on every DII team he can get his hands on ... the guy's numbers are a complete fiction and his records against REAL teams prove it

oh please, he came into the program that barry alvarez built. wisconsin would have been nothing under bielema if alvarez didnt do all the hard lifting during his tenure. and furthermore, i would be worried that he isnt bringing paul chryst with him
