Look for Saban to continue passing Kirby some responsibilities. He has already over the past three years slowly but steadily given Kirby more control over gameplan and in game calls (Saban still has final say, obviously).

I think Saban is grooming Kirby to take the job. I know it was a ton of money, but I don't think Saban would have blessed it like he would have Arky or Tenn. JMO based on a few conversations.

Either that or Kirby just took a step back, slapped himself in the face, and realized that taking the Auburn job while Saban is in Tuscaloosa is close to career suicide.
