I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but according to this article, the playoff system starting in 2014 will not have a 2 team limit on conferences for the major bowl games.

About damn time. That has been the dumbest rule ever, this year especially.

Thank God!

Yeah, it was posted on the German history board about 8 months ago.

You can count this a major blow to some of the tradtional conferences that have a vested interest in keeping this very thing from happening.

The bowls and TV money are probably pissed because they can't have the best teams available. It's about time.

It's been posted before but given our track record for having multiple teams ranked highly I think it's probably worth a repeat post.

Welcome to the SEC Rant.

Before you get started, you need to make an introductory thread on the Gaming Board.

Maybe on paper, but you can bet the "selection" process/committee will do everything possible to uphold that limit. The national parties will not want three ( or 4?) SEC teams in a 4 team playoff.
Politics as usual

Um... you realize that there is no committee beyond the 4 playoff teams, right? after that, the Sugar/Cotton(in certain years when not on the playoff ballot) will be Big 12/SEC always and forever.

This^^^^^^^!!!!! The ONLY way the Big 10 would agree with a playoff. They have zero interest in seeding the four best teams. If they did, they would use the top four of the BCS.

This year especially?

I would state that it was also a dumb rule last year, especially.
