Mauk...Alittle Insight on Practices and Some HS Footage.

Anyways, what I was going to post is a link to check out some footage of Mauk in HS. Since there is not much known about his playing style, this might give you a glimpse.
I came across this with an old story of when he first commited. It was an interview with Franklin on Mauk before the season started. Basically the interview stated the Franklin was impressed and felt he was ahead of the curve watching him in practice and was ahead of where Franklin was when Franlklin was a freshman.
My take, I've heard all this Manziel talk and how we hope he's like Johnny Football, but really he looks to be his own player. Judging from the footage, he looks pretty good.

To be fair, JF wasn't a true QB coming out of HS.
He admitted to having no idea how to read coverage.
Last year (Berks true Fr year), Franklin said how Berkstresser was helping him understand different coverages.
So to say Mauk is ahead of Franklin is not that big of a deal, JF knew very little about the QB position when he came here.
This is the bottom line for me; Mauk's team passed on all 4 downs, never punted, and he did this for his entire H.S career. In my shallow opinion, he is a product of his fathers play calling.
I'm sure he is solid, you couldn't be a smuck and do what he did in H.S, but I will not get excited about him until I see it on the field at the Div 1 level.

A couple things stand out to me. Those are some goofy arse alignments. Also, it looks like at least the kid can throw on the run. With our o-line this year, that would have come in handy.
