Before you jump on me... Yes, Tyler Russell is the best true quarterback that we have had in years. He has a cannon for an arm and for the most part makes good decisions. With that being said....

The game has changed. Success in college football (unless you are fricking powerhouse like Bama) takes a little mobility at the QB position. Dak is a physical freak. He is massive, elusive, has straight line speed, and has a damn good arm. He honestly can be compared to Tebow's college playing style. Brian Wilson said that if he wasn't a QB he would be the best linebacker on the team.

Merlin's offensive scheme makes is undeniably most successful when there is a mobile quarterback in the backfield. I think dak would kill on the speed options, read options, and then the play action pass. I have a bad feeling about next year... but once dak takes the reigns I will be more than confident in our offense against SEC defenses.

I agree just look at manzel, wallace, driskell, conner shaw. They can all run and are all a threat to go pick up the first down by themselves. Unfortunately russell is not really a threat to do that

I can't wait for the Dak era. Not because I don't like Russell, but because I am tired of our bullshite playcalling on third down. We won't reach our potential as an offense until we have a true dual threat starting at qb.

We don't have the o line to utilize Tyler Russell to his fullest potential. They let him get killed back there most games. Yes I am ready to go back to a spread type offense.

The announcers for the Arky/State game keyed in on Russell's foot positions and weather or not he was going to hand off or throw. I am sure Mullen was made aware of this and no one corrected it and I am sure OM keyed in on it as well.

Russell and the offense scored plenty of points to win games. Direct your ire at the defense where it belongs. Any deficiencies on offense were the play calling to some degree and lack of the ability to adjust to the opponents D.
