Says he expects the entire staff to return, expects Sheldon to go pro

Pinkel says he cannot list offseason surgeries that are planned because final decisions haven't been made, some parents haven't been notified, etc.

Says the SEC was not the reason for the struggles this season.

Never had any doubts about returning for next year. "I love what I do."

nkel says Mizzou is 13th in the nation in wins in BCS conf since 2007 "and we have one bad year." "I find that interesting. I think Mike Alden and I have a good relationship, but Mike's job is to make sure that we win. That's the priority. It's not I like Gary Pinkel, it's to win. He always supported me. We had four losing seasons in five years, he supported me. I've always been very, very appreciative of that. The rankings are facts...I'm proud of that. I'm very disappointed in this year, but I'm very very proud of our program."

I was really wondering why people were thinking that staff changes would be made after he stated a week ago that they wouldnt. Isnt in his DNA. No reason to lie at that point, and its not like it was a stretch to believe that nothing would happen. Honestly at this point he is on the hotseat. He needs to take Off. Playcalling duties from Yost and make them himself.

Well, perhaps with a different more motivated QB at the helm, things may actually be different next year.

He did leave open that possibility.

I listened to TigerTalk last night. He was selling the possibility of Maty taking over as starter. Referenced the Brad Smith - Kirk Farmer example specifically which I thought was interesting. Sounds like an indirect challenge to Maty to come get the job. I hope he figures it out.

Anyone but Franklin. I'm done with his superman arse.

Sure, he's a good athlete when he wants to be...but this season the perception is that he decides when he wants to play, not the coach or medical staff, and he decides not to play very often.

I want a Johnny Jizz Ball type that hurts his knee, goes to the locker room to put on a brace, and then comes back in ASAP to light up the other team.

Superman Franklin isn't that guy.

I wish we had went JUCO with one of the QB spots. So that a guy could step in right now and compete. But we have what we have.

Why do I feel insulted when he makes comments like this? I understand he has to try to put a positive spin on things but I know the successes Mizzou has had under his reign and I also know the trend this team has been on since losing to Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game. Someone needs to let him know for us fickle fans it's also about what are you going to do for me tomorrow.

Whats the point now?

One thing works for us fans. At least we know going into next year that we don't have to speculate on how good or bad we would have been had Mizzou hired a new coach. We can slide into next fall not knowing anything about how this team will perform really. Who knows. Bets are they suck, but you just don't know.

Come on, jafo. They could be mediocre to slightly above average. Where's your faith?
