For one I wish it was more realistic that he is gone, I think it will be staff changes that are pushed this offseason, but who knows.. this does seem to be gaining steam.

I want Kirby Smart, but not realistic.

This would be a bad year to go coach searching.

It's like when 8 teams need a top of the order Ace but there are only 3-4 available. (And imagine we're the Rockies not the Cardinals, so we don't have heritage as a selling point).

No offense, UR but hell no on Al Golden.

I dont get the hype with him, he hasnt done anything.

Charlie Strong or Kirby Smart. It is key to get one of them in here. Somebody that knows the conference.

If the Pinkel rumors are true this will never happen. But I would be for it.

Why so?

Dan Mullen went to MSU and we are a much better job than they are.

He's inherited a bad situation. His offense has been pretty good and explosive. Just something about him.

I just think he is destined to take over an elite college program.. I'm all for it if we can get him. Will take a lot of money that I'm not sure we have... but who knows.

I'd make JFF the first ever player-coach in college football.

I say pluck the next in line coach from bama, georgia or LSU.....that has the biggest upside and who can actually recruit in the south

My point was, even a place like MSU can get Elite SEC Assistants. We definitely could.

Briles or Patterson, both signicantly better coaches than GP imo. Andy Reid would make an interesting hire.

Can Alden pull another rabbit out of his hat like what he did with Haith? I have faith in Alden if he finally decides to get down to business and stop playing patty cake with his BFF Pinkel to get Mizzou back on track

Yeah, I hear you, I really do. I knew what you meant.

I just think that a guy like Mullen takes that job at MSU because he has no other ties to the SEC. He is a northerner that went to college in Pennsylvania. He is a little bit older than Smart, I think a guy like Smart is tabbed to take over an elite SEC school in the near future.

From the sounds of things, MA has a list. A good AD always does.

I trust that he knows what he's doing.

Mike Alden is a nerd that I don't necessarily like, but he is thorough and he works hard at his job. I'm sure he started making this list around the time of the Jumbo wine incident.

Was he the one rumored to be in line for the Penn State gig before the whole Sandusky thing blew up?

This is the same man that after MA left us didnt even blink. Went right for Matt Painter. I think we will see the same type of response. Mike knows what is at stake. We will get a top of the line coach.
