Using a basic “Big XII offense”, a freshmen-led team scored 3 straight TDs and was 15 of 16 to start the game passing. Texas A&M did exactly what any other Big XII team would have done in the SEC on offense.

I strongly disagree with this. The key to A&M's transition to the SEC, the more I think about it, on offense is our O-line.

Without a good line, you're screwed in the SEC. It still amazes me, as I watch games, how much bigger the lines are in this conference. Other Big XII teams don't have the O line we do. That is a big key to this year. Without the time they give JFF a lot of our receivers wouldn't be open. He wouldn't be able to scramble. And our running backs wouldn't be averaging the yards per carry that they are averaging.

Defensively, we have a decent D-line (albeit with no depth), decent LBs, and subpar secondary. I do agree the SEC needs to concentrate more on its offenses while keeping defenses as they are.

One more thing, look at the Cotton Bowl as an example. It is what the Big XII #2 v SEC #3 or something like that.

Go back and look at the results. Since 2004 only Mizzou has won the Cotton bowl. Can we count that as an SEC win now? ;)

So obviously the Big XII wasn't as good as the SEC and still isn't anywhere close to it.

This TAMU team would be wiping the floor with the Big XII this year. Keep in mind, last year TAMU was favored in 11 of 12 games. That sleepy Sherm took a big dump on the University last year doesn't mean the talent wasn't there. King Cobra Sumlin just knows how to coach college.
