The difference in these two games was the linebacker and defensive end play. LSU has more speed than Bama at these positions and was able to chase JFF down when he scrambled. That is, chase him down before he got a first.

LSU's defensive team speed is just better than Bama's.

I'd say it was the wind. It was extremely windy in the LSU-A&M game and both QBs looked awful bc of it. We're more a passing team than either of you so conditions like that hurt us more

That. And a lucky as hell bounce off the chest int. that JFF threw that was a 10-14 point swing.

All 3 games were great teams playing tough. Turnovers and a little luck were the difference in all 3 games.

Our d lineman and linebackers are all pretty big. I doubt it helps their speed.

It seemed like Bama didn't make enough adjustments to stop JFF. For a lot of the lsu a&m game, you saw 3 linemen and 2 linebackers. Seemed like bama just didnt change much at all on D.

The difference was that Sumlin and KK have learned from their mistakes and improved. If we played UF again we'd crush them and LSU may very well end differently.

Props to LSU for doing what they did, though. In hindsight stopping Manziel is very impressive. A&M has grown since then, though.
