Biggest difference is that even the teams that are down in the SEC can bite you. With the home field and a little momentum, anything can happen.
Also, the home field advantage in the SEC is more prevalent top to bottom. Only a handfull of Big 12 teams had a real home field advantage... OU and Tech were loud and it was worth some points to the home team.
Texasss had good teams but DKR was quiet and not intimidating at all. Never has been.
SEC venues and atmosphere are overall much much better from top to bottom. Only OU and Tech are even close to SEC atmosphere IMO.
