Wow. Tough crowd. I do think LSU played better for a large portion of the game similar to Alabama outplaying LSU the majority of the game in the LSU 9-6 victory last year.

The way I saw last night:

-Alabama did not have a coaching issue; it was an execution problem.
-AJ McCarron missed open receivers for the majority of the game, and it wasn't because of pressure from the LSU DL.
-Alabama averaged 6.6 YPC rushing vs LSU avg. of 2.8
-OL completely dominated LSU DL
-LSU's Mett had the game of his life to date. Perhaps the lights have finally come on because the guy has some great tools
-LSU exposed some issues in the Alabama secondary
-LSU OL played well against the DL
-Jeremy Hill is really good. The FR RBs for both teams are going to be fun to watch. Both will go pro after their junior years.
-LSU appeared to play their best game while Alabama had probably their worst game from an execution standpoint.
-LSU would the turnover battle
-I thought LSU made a poor decision on the fake punt. Alabama was ready, but overall the 3 pts was not a gimme as it would have been a career long
-I thought the onsides kick was a thing of beauty. It sucks for LSU that it hadn't quite gone 10 yds.
-LSU got some good breaks the biggest being their only turnover not being a live play due to a false start
-LSU fans were as wild as I have ever seen them. Great job by the fans.

I am looking forward to the next one, and I agree that if you hadn't lost to Florida you deserved another shot this year.

I said on the SB that I think that LSU started to come undone after the unsuccessful 4th and 1. I would have loved seeing Mett stay in the game, then run a play fake out of the I, releasing a TE off the line. The way that LSU was running in the 2nd half, there's no doubt in my mind that Bama would have bitten on that and the play could have easily worked.

This was strangely like last year's game. Saban outcoached himself in that one and Miles did the same last night.
