Top247 junior cornerback Chad Clay of Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Ga., was among the more than 20 Tennessee targets who attended the Vols’ junior day last weekend, and he said after the visit that UT is one of four teams standing out most to him, along with Georgia, Florida and Ohio State.
He then told 247Sports’ Luke Stampini on Monday night that “it’s pretty much a tie between Florida and Georgia at the top right now.”
Still, the Vols appear to be legitimate contenders for the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Clay. He already has visited Tennessee three times, including his two trips to Knoxville last season to attend the Vols’ home games against Alabama and Missouri.
