Jay-Jay McCargo has received offers from several schools, but none was more special than Tennessee. The junior prospect had the Vols on his radar before receiving an offer in November, which he called 'a huge rush.' 'I've watched Tennessee since I was little,' McCargo told InsideTennessee. 'When they offered, it was something I was kind of hoping for

There is little doubt that Tennessee has recruited outstanding receivers during the three cycles under Butch Jones.

Looking down the road a bit, the Vols could be in line to land one of the best rising junior receivers in the country.

During an on-site interview on Tuesday, receiver Rodney Scott (Miami, Fla./Southridge) praised Tennessee and said that the Vols were his early leader over Miami (Fla.), Georgia and Florida State.

"They pass the ball a lot and they have big receivers," Scott said, adding that he has been in contact with Vols receivers coach Zach Azzanni. “He’s a cool guy, I like him."

Miami currently is his only verbal offer, though more certainly are on the way. Scott said the Canes were his "dream school" growing up, even though they do not currently lead for his services.

Alabama, Auburn and Ohio State also are showing early attention.
