I'm glad to see new posters in our midst! I think we really need a campaign to get some of our fallen back. My thread on the help board obviously did no good. Ideas?
And Bogie - what wine analogy? Smooth, with great legs? Full-bodied with a hint of spice? Or my personal favorite....

Bogie. I am a 19 year old in mind with a way older body. Harrisonville is where I was born. As far as I know they did have a hospital in Harrisonville in the early 50's. This is all second hand knowledge since I do not remember much about my birth.

Semo,
It was something along along this theme.....women are like a fine wine, they improve with age
4hrserect,
Is it really possible you are old enough not to be my son or grandson? I may still be the oldest Mizzou poster on here, but nice to have someone who might remember when TV had a test pattern and did not run 24/7.

I dont even know what a Test Pattern is.
When I was a really little kid, I remember people who had dials on their TVs and had to spin a dial around to make phone calls.

We used to watch the test pattern as we waited for cartoons to start around 7 in the morning. Dial phones replaced our phone box on wall that had to be cranked and that was a party line shared with several households. People didn't use the phones like it is today. Can you imagine that?
Moygray, I admit that I would understand Latin better than your message.

He is continuing his obsession over me. I am beyond it, but still flattered nonetheless.

Bogie. I could be your son if you were 75+. I do remember the TV stations going off the air at midnight. Some would play the star spangled banner with a film showing jets, tanks and other military stuff. When that ended the test pattern came on. We only got 3 stations. No way to record any shows. If you missed it, well, you missed it. These young punks on here do not know just how hard we old farts had it.

Semo, I think it has to be tried again but we'd probably have better luck if we weren't trying to get everyone back at once. That may be over reaching. Maybe if we tried a couple at a time, like start with getting kilo and socal back.

I'm not old enough to remember test patterns but I am old enough to remember when I was the remote control any time the station had to be changed.

The two of them probably do not check here anymore. So if they are to come back somebody would need their contact info

Being the remote control was probably one of the reasons my dad kept me. I remember the first remote control we had. It was mechanical. You would push the button and a small metal rod inside the remote would be pushed into a stationary piece of metal. The frequency of the metal hitting metal would change the channel. The volume worked the same but at a different tone. We had a dog that had a chain "choker" collar. If he started scratchin his neck with his back paw the chain would start rattling and the channel would start changing. It would keep on changing till the dog quit or was restrained. We had to take the dog's collar off when we watched tv or take the chance he would start changing channels.

I thought someone had their contact info. If not maybe they'd see it on TB.

Have you never heard someone sarcastically cough half way though saying a word?
You said you were the oldest poster on here, and I said
strii (cough) pes. Meaning I think stripes is actually an old guy, not a college student like he claims.

Okay, I'm caught up. I didn't realize you were spelling another poster's name. I was thinking it was Internet jargon. (idk)
But Stripes' answer jogged my memory of the conversation between you guys.

I think I'm most definitely onto something with you stripes... but I promise to keep quiet about it and let you enjoy the feelings of youth from your keyboard.

Greetings earthlings! My name is Flamma Conicio! I hail from the ashes of a bygone era. Many have anticipated the return of the chosen one, the one who shall set Mizzou free...
I'm not that dude, but I think Arkansas is definately the new kansas, and I love me some Mizzou.
Jumbos all around!
