If Au were an SECWEST, SEC, and NC contender like LSU, they wouldn't want an unfair conf schedule for the 3rd year in a row.

Sure you do. What difference does it make to Auburn if you're never competing for the West anyway?

Auburn won't be competing for the SEC for the next 5-6 years. Why would they care if the schedules are unfair?
