However, if you go off of what the teams have done so far this season...Florida is more impressive right now and it's not Alabama's fault they haven't played better competition.

Poll are only partially based on merit. A win is a win is a win. When it is all said and done, LSU beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa last year. That's the goal, to win. You don't play for style points. But if they had won by 21 the first time, instead of 3, they play Oklahoma State in the Natty instead of the tide. Style points matter to the voters. Impressive is all relative to the narrative they want to give. If Driskel had charisma and charm like Tebow, people would be going insane clamoring for them to be number 1. Instead, the media finds it easier to sell the "Nick Saban blue print" dynasty. It is all about what is easy for the writers. Simple as that.

That's only part of it. Nobody expected Florida to be here at this point in the season. When you start out without the hype of a title contender, it takes more time to overcome the teams who were believed to be up there (either by your own team winning over perceived contenders, or the perceived contenders losing or looking very bad).

I completely disagree. When a team isnt challenged in the entirity of its schedule, and another team won all their games, but maybe not as impressively as the first team, its a no brainer which one should be ranked the higher team and it has nothing to do with what the media can and cant sell.

When the product on the field speaks for itself, there is no need to sell. So far, Alabama's product hasnt spoken for itself, its pretty well fricking screamed it, without actually having to say a fricking word.

Truth.

That being said, Bama is the clear #1 to me. They have a typical Saban awesome defense and they can both throw and run the ball on the other side. An offense that can control the clock, but also get guys out of the box with throws makes them very tough to beat tied in with that defense.

I just haven't seen a reason yet that Bama is not the best team in the land.
