How big was that missed extra point against La Tech. We make that, and the 2 point conversion attempt doesn't matter. Happened late agains Ole Miss. Second game in a row where a missed point could have cost us the game. Got to fix this somehow.

The 1 play La Tech TD drive at around 1:50 in the 4th. Looks like 2 Ags had a shot at the receiver. When the receiver was making the run at the sideline, it looks like #10 Williams let up slightly thinking he was going out of bounds. That was nothing compared to #21 Terrel. He literally pulled up and didn't make an attempt to tackle until the receiver went by. Very similar to Ole Miss db not touching Manziel on the 3 play drive TD drive. Not sure what was going on there. Maybe the defensive backs had been called for penalties so many times they were trying to avoid a flag for a hit out of bounds. If you recorded the game take a look around 1:50 4th Q.

That was a horrific defensive call btw. How do you put Sean Porter on Patton at that point in the game? I know it was a crossing route and Zone coverage but you simply can't allow the 1 guy that has been killing you all night to get in a mismatch with a LB.

I think fatigue, both mental and physical, was a huge factor on the D late in that game. With the injuries and suspensions we had a lot of guys who had been out there playing for 5 hours. I don't care how good LJ is, guys can only keep up their intensity for so long. I also think the penalties were really messing with the DB's heads.

Due to the injuries/suspensions in the secondary, Porter was actually playing Nickel for most the game as Hurd was playing safety. It was just a mismatch that we did not have the personnel to correct.

This game looks completely different with Matthews, Everett and Jenkins even is Steven Campbell was injured.

Also go back and rewatch the game. 50% of the PI were blatantly incorrect, another 25% were the kind that could go either way.

They also refused to call a hold on Damontre which was occurring all night long.

The officiating crew was CUSA and they officiated like it.

It was SEC as it was Penn Wagers' crew

Luicci said CUSA and it's been repeated over and over but makes it no more true.

Honestly I think it would have been better as a WAC crew. Those officials clearly were lost with 2 Air Raid teams playing, it was NFL replacement official quality with random flags and lack of them at other times.

that crew is widely regarded as the worst in the SEC. We got the reject crew so that the conference games could get the good ones.

Don't care. We won. Next.

Interesting. A defense and run oriented crew ended up officiating a pass happy air raid game. Guess that explains some of the issues.

Game was just too fast for those guys.

I watched it again as well. After 46 - 23 our guys kind of let up, and they almost beat us because of it. That play around 1:50 in the 4th had to have been because of fatigue.

believe La Tech ran 101 offensive plays. Stephen Terrell played every one of those. Snyder in today's presser said he'd never played so few players in a game before. We're just paper thin.

Everett, Jenkins, and Matthews will all be back this week. Certainly provides a bit more cover. But not playing 100 plays will help.

nah, quick look at participation chart shows a lot more. I count 24 but some of those may have been ST only. Even if they did play D, guys like Burns and Gardiner certainly weren't in much because I don't remember them at all.

DT 99 Spencer Nealy
RUSH 94 Damontre Moore
WLB 36 Donnie Baggs
MLB 11 J. Stewart
SLB 10 Sean Porter
CB 1 De'Vante Harris
CB 7X Tramain Jacobs
S 21 Steven Terrell
S 4 Toney Hurd, Jr

3C-M. Richardson
6-D. Gardiner
14-Floyd Raven
22-Dustin Harris
26-Devonta Burns
30-J. Franklin
35-Tyrell Taylor
40-Shaun Ward
44-Sam Moeller
46-Jake Russell
72-Gavin Stansbury
89-Ivan Robinson
92-Jonathan Mathis

Removed the ones who are walk-ons and the ones who only play special teams

you really get a feel for it when you realize we played nickel or dime almost every play. Remove a LB and slide in

14-Floyd Raven
22-Dustin Harris
30-J. Franklin

that leaves 1-2 guys as subs for the entire secondary. Most of the rest of the players rotated but the secondary went play after play after play with no subs.
