I can't believe we are having this discussion at all.
LaTech has played one game against a winning team ---> A&M. Put up 57, higher than their scoring average. 8 TDs. Say what you want about penalties, starters being out, etc. But your backups should be able to play football better.
I'm not a stats guy. I watch the games. I can tell if a team is good or not. I don't need to quote LaTech's potent offensive stats to determine if a team is worthy of being considered a good defense or not.

You should be able to tell that your D hasn't faced a scoring in the top 50.

We were down 2 starters and a primary back up in the secondary as well as one of our top defenders at LB.
We were so low on players in the secondary that we actually had a LB playing our Nickel back most of the night because our regular Nickel was playing Safety.
Add on to that the fact that the CUSA refs were tossing PI calls just for breathing on Patton and the fact that our defense was on the field for 101 plays even though we had TOP advantage of over 5 minutes and you are going to get some gaudy stats.
