Wilson has and has had a shitty offensive line in front of him. Look at the beatings he's taken over the past two years. Even with that, he took advantage of his situation and looked great. That's the mark of a good quarterback.

quote:

Nobody discredits Wilson for all of those advantages, but are quick to discredit McCarron because of his percieved advantages.

I'm not one of those people. McCarron is way up there on my list too. He's got the arm, but is smart enough to play within his system. McCarron is the reason I think Alabama is head and shoulders above the rest of the country. You have that dominant defense and an offense than can run and pass. Profit.

Offensive line is one of the biggest factors with all the QB's mentioned in this thread. Here is a look at some of the teams lines.

Avg Weight, Heights and years
Bama 314.2 6-4 1/2 So, Sr, Sr, Jr and Jr
Arky 305 6-5 1/2 Jr, So, Sr, Jr and Jr
LSU 322.8 6-5 1/2 Jr, Sr, So, Jr and Sr
A&M 308.6 6-4 1/2 Jr, Jr, So, So and Sr
UT 318.4 6-5 1/2 So, Jr, RSr, Jr and Jr
UGA 310.4 6-3 3/4 Jr, Jr, So, Jr and Fr
USC 308.8 6-5 So, So, So, Jr and Jr
UF 310.2 6-4 Jr, So, Sr, Jr and Jr

Everyone wants to praise Bray so much, but if you look at his line they are one of the oldest and biggest of all these teams. That helps with not getting sacked and allows more time to find WR. Then you look at Murray, who has the youngest line, only team with no Sr on the Oline and only line starting a Fr.

Murray should still be in the conversation despite the USC game. Murray was not as much exposed by USC Defense as the Oline was. If he has time like most good QB's they will make passes and put up numbers.
