a petition to chicken for leaving the team boards private

oh head fowl,
please let the current team boards remain private to only fans of that school and invited guests. if it means making the tiger rant private to make lsu whiners go away so be it. but having the team boards private as they are now is a nice respite from the flaming/trolling in the SECr. it is nice to have a place on this site where you can communicate among fans of your school without input/flames/trolling of other fans.

Im kind of torn about it honestly.
I think if they are moderated well where trolls can get insta bans from certain teqm sites it can be nice to have some good back and forth with other fan bases.
On the other side if its not tightly moderated it just allows for trolls and flames to become more effective by allowing people to tlame an entire fan base here wih on thread.

No invited guests IMO. Team boards are team boards. To let other fans join defeats the purpose.

I've been screaming this since the Georgia Board was created. It should be for that team only. Read-only. It's not like I can't lurk the Arkansas board, find something suspect, and then post it on the rant for discussion. Team boards would be nothing but a flame fest after that particular team lost. Why add the need for tighter moderation when we can just keep the boards private?

As a Bama fan, I know exactly what opposing fans would do our board. It would get flamed and trolled to hell and back every day.

Nah open them up but moderate them more strictly. If LSU is playing A&M or something I would live to go to their board and talk about the game in a non homerish way like you'd see on the SECr with the flaming and such.

agree but who would moderate.... would there be admin power given to certain members of each board.
