I want to believe Alabama is really disciplined, but I watch their games and they get away with a lot of seemingly obvious penalties, particularly in the holding category.

REC Brah.....now Fall Back

Its funny though...even by the OP's original post Saban his last 2 years at LSU was:

2004 / 3 / LSU #5
2003 / 4 / LSU #7

...so I guess the refs were biased back then as well? Obviously the he started doing something different to reduce the penalties a team as committing. So you are saying the refs loved Saban's 2007 7-6 team so much too?

Hey, does anyone remember when Mathieu made that great football play, picture perfect technique, and Kirkpatrick gave himself a concussion after he tripped on his own feet? THEY CALLED THAT A PENALTY. HOLDING? HOLDING? What the?

Holding and PF are coachable. Block in the back on ST play is coachable. If you listen to Saban you know that there is a price to be paid if you commit one of these.
On 1-9 Bama had 0 until a second teamer jumped off side on a kick at the end of the game. Saban went ape shite on the side line. It means something to Saban. A 15 yd PF is 15 yds you GIVE the other team. Some coaches act like OK. Not Saban.
