Actually, Alabama has used variations of the script "A," including the one used on here.

It's hard to tell because the top of the hat is slightly pushed in, but I think the "A" on Coach Bryant's hat here is the same one as used on TD.

ETA: Guess who else is guilty of copying logos?

Below is an alternate Alabama logo used circa 1952-1958. Alabama Polytechnic Institute didn't change its name to Auburn University until 1960.

Yep. It's hilarious that Alabama had the interlocking A and U logo before Auburn did. Actually before Auburn was even created.
