I think the less thoughtful LSU fans are trying to maintain the point that Alabama's schedule doesn't garner a #1 ranking. That said, LSU's schedule doesn't garner a #2, or #3 (now) ranking... Both teams are ranked where they are based in part on last year, and probably the overall trend of the past few years.

It's just how it is. Had LSU won last year in the BCSCG, or had LSU not lost as many players this year, chances are the Auburn win, while ugly, wouldn't have resulted in as much of a drop.

Unfortunately, flaming and trolling is what the vast majority of posters love to do on this board. Bama deserves their #1 ranking regardless of who they have played. They look like an efficient, well oiled machine. I hate Bama, but I love the way Bama plays the game.

I have no problem with pollsters ranking LSU lower based on last night's performance. The close game is meaningless as long as LSU takes care of business over the next 6 weeks. LSU plays Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama in the next 6 weeks. It's all about how LSU performs in those games. The ranking will be there if LSU wins.

But until everyone starts playing each other, it's a flame fest based on who everyone has played and how they looked doing it.
