College Station is a lot like hell, but grayer, dustier, and filled with a disproportionate amount of rednecks.

Have you actually been to CS? If nothing else it is humid and not dusty and there really aren't that many rednecks. Some, but they are a minority. There are also 10 times as many people in CS than Starkville so I don't really get the smack talk there.

In my experience every school has their positives and negatives, just depends on what you like.

If you like unique food, raucous atmosphere, and don't mind being harassed as an opponent LSU is hard to beat.

If you like an Old South feel and a place where the game itself is kind of secondary to the event then Ole Miss is great.

If you like to see monuments to the glory of college football and the finest stadium around then Bama is for you.

If you like huge stadiums where they have lots of traditions and great history then UGA and UT are great.

If you like a stadium by the water with a cool atmosphere where people tailgate out of railroad cars then USC is awesome.

If you like a true college town with lots to do and a loud stadium then you will love UF.

If you are into a place with unique traditions, a fiercely loyal fanbase that is generally friendly to MOST visitors and a cool college town then Auburn is tough to beat.

If you like live music and partying in the city then Vandy is fabulous.

If you like a small college town where the fans are fiercely proud and loyal to their team even though they may not have all the bells and whistles of some other schools you will love State.

If you like the mountains, generally friendly folks, and a unique culture then Arkansas will make for a fun trip.

If you like basketball then you will like Kentucky.

If you like a more Midwestern feel with fantastic brats and a more old school college setting you will like Mizzou.

If you like a place where the folks are friendly, they take their traditions WAY too seriously, and there is a bit of an ode to the military along with beef bbq and Tex Mex, A&M is paradise.

Yeah, no

Some rednecks, yes. Disproportionate? No.

The only problem wit going to College Station is that it is literally hotter than hell.
