I think there is a general consensus that A&M is here to stay, they are not going anywhere. But regarding Mizzou it seemed in the back of my mind that if B1G ever expanded and was able to get ND, they well also invite Mizzou, who would seriously consider the move. There may be quite a few here who shared this same sentiment. ND is known for keeping their word and I would assume if move to ACC is finalized then it is a done deal. They will never, ever, go to B1G. Considering this it seems to me that Mizzou, like A&M, is here to stay, they will be here 100 years from. My question is do others sense a little more permanence with Mizzou. Or does it not alter your thinking at all, regarding their likelihood to stay.

FWIW, this is in no way a hack, or disrespect, to the Tigers. With the SEC being setup the way it it, with no penalty for leaving (want to go? Bye.), I just saw this as a distinct possibility with Mizzou. If the B!G ever does want to expand now that there is no ND available, I'm not sure what two teams they could possibly get...and improve conference.

MIZZOU IS NOT, I repeat, NOT going to the big 10 whether you want us to or not. It was made VERY clear by our admin that this was a 100 year decision.

Please stop bringing up this worn out topic.

ND will stay independent or go ACC full-time.

I doubt they would join a conference that blackballed them 100 years ago to keep them out...ergo, why they had to go independent in the first place. Bad blood with the Big10 and they don't have to share a dime.

Why would the B1G be a better fit for Mizzou? Playing Nebraska and Illinois every year? Is that really that more important than playing Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, USC and Vandy? I don't think so. Also with the money involved in the SEC, there is even less reason to leave. Obviously their historic rivalries mean nothing to them or they wouldn't have openly pinned for the B1G in the first place. Now that they are in the SEC, why leave? It won't be for rivalries. It won't be for money. What other reasons are there?

I would say that less than 10% of Mizzou fans prefer the Big 10 over the SEC. Like it or not rural Missouri is more like Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee than it is like states up North. Missouri goes further south than Kentucky does.

Basically ND wanting their cake and eating the whole thing too. They don't want to give up their exclusive TV deals. ND should have joined the Big 10 years ago. These non-geographical conference decisions are getting ridiculous.

MIZZOU is not every going to leave. The SEC is THE althletic conference. Why would anyone want to leave it to take a step down? The vibe in the SEC is just different than it ever was in the big 12. I have heard that the Big 8 was more unified but that was so long ago and we did not have the media covereage we have now so it is hard to tell.
To those who welcome us with open arms thank you. To those who wish we were never invited tough shite and look for more crappy videos coming soon.

The day Mizzou gets that sweet SEC revenue sharing check will be the last day Mizzou EVER thinks about leaving the sec.

To the original poster or anyone else who'd like the action: I'll bet anyone $10-$1 (for every dollar you put up, I have to put up $10) that Mizzou will still be in the SEC 20 years from now (or longer if you'd like).

Ego Delany could call Mizzou tomorrow and offer full membership from the beginning if we'd move to the B1G. Unfortunately, our leadership is too nice to tell him what the majority of our fans would but suffice to say we wouldn't be going. All this crap is the result of an AP writer who has an ax to grind and he threw that crap out there. Just because something gets published does not mean it's accurate.

BTW: I'm capping the bet at $10k not because I don't have faith but because I want it to be a legit amount I can come up with (without my wife leaving me).
