from the article posted by the OP:

"The nonprofit school hopes to address a shortage of physicians in rural areas."

which is exactly what is needed in alabama. most physicians practicing rural medicine specialize in family practice, and, in fact, uab has a special program for rural medicine students where they extremely loosen their standards in an attempt to draw students to the program (mcat of 24 all thats needed, hello uab md program). uab also has between the 12th and 15th best rated rural medicine program in the country, depending on the source of the rankings.

Will the DO school associate with any particular hospital in Auburn or will it be focused around the research wing at AU?
