Hog fans, do you think Paul Petrino will be in the booth or on the field?

He was always up in the booth when Bobby was here, but now that Paul is the primary play caller, where will he be?

I expect him to be on the field calling plays, with an extra pair of eyes upstairs. But I could just as easily see him in the booth with some GAs giving signals on the sideline.

I'd like to see him stay in the booth, it's a little easier for him to disect the defense.

I hope the field.

With Bobby gone need someone to set in and raise some hell on the sideline, and don't think JMFLS is the one.

I agree, in our first game without Paul in the booth, our offense sucked. It was the 09 Liberty Bowl against ECU and you could definitely tell a difference in the play calling and overall efficacy of the offense.

I'm pretty sure he was on the field at Illinois.

ETA: Apparently I'm wrong.

I think he will be in the booth, he was at Illinois. The OL and RB coach will be on field, most likely.

Klenakis could do this, he's a little guy but he gets fiery.

What level of contact do you think Bobby will have with Paul and John L. this season?

You think he'll be watching game film during the week and getting on the phone with Paul?

Sorry if this is a thread hi-jack.

If you ever watch Paul at practice, you'd realize he gets pissed enough to where they'll be able to hear him down on the field over the crowd noise.

I don't think I've ever seen that much rage in that little of a person. He makes Saban seem Zen in comparison. I really do wonder if coaching is good for Paul's long term health.

They are in constant contact, this is Bobby's team and he has a vested interest in their success.

If my boss kicked my arse to the curb just for getting a little trim on the side, and I lost multi-millions in the process, I'd wouldn't care if the whole program went in the shitter.

It's hard for me to believe a man with the arrogance of B.Petrino would be willing to help the program that fired him.

If the team does really well it's better for Bobby's resume. Everyone already knows it's his team, not John L's.

This, and BP called plays from the sideline as do several OC's. I think he'll be on the sidelines

That would be like cutting one's nose off to spite their face.

In defense of Bobby Petrino, maybe he realizes it was his choices that ultimately put him in the situation he is in. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't think Bobby Petrino is a "bad person" and don't need the media to tell me what to think and feel.

I'm thinking he still has a lot of emotional investment in the program.

You realize we would be getting a class action lawsuit if we wouldn't have fire him right?

Firing him doesn't prevent a class action lawsuit. No, I'm not Guv.

Hey, I didn't say he shouldn't have been fired.

JMHO, I there were other options that Long could have taken other than firing him. (Who knows if Bobby's ego would have allowed him to accepted the other options?)

My point was simply that if "I" were BP, I wouldn't make myself available to the program that chose to kick me out. I would tell them all to go screw themselves.
