Got a little news flash for you, dumbass... Auburn did have a Div 1 football team scheduled that year.

Bowling Green.

But the new coach at Bowling Green that year wanted to play Oklahoma since he came from that program. So, at the last minute, they cancelled on Auburn and chose to play Oklahoma.

The only reason The Citadel was on the schedule that year was because Bowling Green screwed us waiting until the last second to cancel and we had to jump at just about anything to fill the hole.

Of course, The Citadel was just a weak arse excuse to mouth to cover for the real reason... the voters were bound and determined to match up USC and Oklahoma. They wanted it and they were going to make sure it happened. And they got it... the most horrifying mismatch in BCS history.

In 2003 LSU was honored by an invite to the BCSCG (which they won). Who was on their schedule that year? FCS Western Illinois.

In 2008 Florida was honored by an invite to the BCSCG (which they won). Who was on their schedule that year? FCS The Citadel.

In 2009 Alabama was honored by an invite to the BCSCG (which they won). Who was on their schedule that year? FCS Chattanooga.

Yet somehow, The Citadel was "disqualifying" in 2004. Weird.
