I would say MS ranks 60-65, but this link, looking at the history of programs is hard to dispute and has MS At # 81... LINK

Good find. Hard to argue with that historically.

Funny thing is that this was taken after the 2009 season...By that scoring scale, State scored 59 points total in it's first 73 years examined. We've scored 20 in the past 2 years. So, by that arrangement, we've accomplished 25% of total historical points in the previous TWO seasons.

Thing is, none of the State fans have argued our overall history...We know and have known that it is crap.

That wasn't what the OP was about though. It was a flame to State as it currently exists, under the pretense of your still poor ole Mississippi State, know your role. Well, we feel like our role has permanently changed for the better...so we argue our current situation and our future(all that we can control) is in the 30-40 range and rising. Alot has changed in the SEC since the 1930s...and alot has happened @ MSU since 2008...

Damn, that's really sad.

Agreed. Would literally take decades of sustained success @ our current pace to get out of the hole we're in...

I would love to see an updated list... ALOT of names down low on that list that don't really belong there, IMO. Would love to see it redone just for the past 20 years or so. As far as State fans are concerned, outside of a half dozen years, our program didn't exist from 1941 till 1991...

South Carolina @ 83?
OK State @ 65?
Baylor @ 63?
Boise St @ 54?
Stanford @ 45?
Va Tech @ 37?

To answer your question: No, not top 50.

Well, yeah, I'd say that they are top 50 currently. I don't think there are 50 other teams in the country who could consistently beat State.

Better question: Is MSU currently in the top eight of the SEC or not?
