Higher salaries isn't just because of engineers. The Big 4 hires Aggies like crazy. I know for a fact that my Sooner friend at EY recruited and signed an Aggie below their gradepoint threshold because it was A&M. You are allowed to do that when you know the education is stronger. He wouldn't get away with that at Arkansas.

BS.....I worked for 2 of the Big 4. Yes the Dallas and Houston offices sign a lot of A&M kids, as well as Texas and Baylor and LSU. Having worked in the Houston offices, I can tell you that the A&M kids were not thought to be the most intelligent out of the 3 major schools that place accountants in the Houston area. I've known many people that did not have a 3.5 gpa get hired at the big4...you aren't that special.

I'm an engineer. I don't work for any of the big 4. Nor did I ever say A&M was thought of as the highest. I know that my friend at EY recruited and hired a kid at A&M below the threshold, and he said he was never allowed to do that for Sooners, even though he wanted to. A&M is a better school than OU, is that such a shocking thing to say? He is a Sooner and would readily admit that. Does that mean every single Aggie is better than every single Sooner? No. No it does not.
