Here is the honest opinion of a Gator who follows college football and knows the SEC: UT & UF shared the same problem last year of not being able to run the ball well...actually UT hasnt been running the ball like the old Fulmer days of 2001 imho.
UT has a very good qb who has started games, UF has two very talented young qbs who were fed to the wolves because of injury to Brantley last year. WRs...big edge to UT, RBs...even probably, TE? UF has Jordan Reed OL? Edge to UF with four starters back and the fifth starter has had starting experience.
Defense is where UF will make UT throw the ball more than they want to. The one key stat that says everything is which team has the most rushing yds at end of game? Simple. Whichever team outrushes will win the game. Qbs and wrs wont win the game.
Now...do I think UT can win? Yes. Will they? I really dont know...UT has struggled offensively for some time...our offense is only suffering post Tebow letdown in running. Being in Knoxvegas is a real plus for UT...Dooley is in pickle if he cant win...look at who UT beat last year, not exactly a killers row and UF also feasted on lambs to an extent.
Should be a great SEC contest with the pigskin in the air and hard hitting.
UT can outrush UF if they get a two TD lead and run a lot of draw plays and belly dives and run clock...opting to throw on third downs if need be. UF on the otherhand will try to make UT convert third and longs...putting pressure on Bray. He will know what aftershave our defensive line is wearing by games end. Because its a road game...defense is where we need to win the battle and create turnovers and quiet the crowd...Im sure we will have nickle package 90% of the time.

quote:I'd say it's even. Tennessee returns everyone from a good pass blocking line. Maturity was an issue with run blocking because the line is/was young. Another year in the weight room will really help these guys reach their potential. Plus we added some much needed depth. Everything else is spot on and good post.
