hah! You can't get in unless you are top 10% in your class and score some crazy 1300+ on the sat(someone correct me as I am sure I am off a bit).
I heard we had over 50k freshman applicants this year for spring. It is the same at texas, and this is why the state is working so hard to make more Tier 1 Universities in the state as we are running off a bunch of smart kids to border states.
I think California has over 7 Tier 1 universities.

I'm honestly not trying to be a dick - but doesn't having that large of a population kind of dilute the brand? I'm by no means saying it's not a quality education, but damn.
