Neither JJ or Lee were close to the prospects AJ were in high school and neither will earn a paycheck in the NFL. Cam Newton was a five star and athletic freak. He success had very little to do with coaching. He could not even draw a simple play on the white board.

The fact that this thread debating whether you would prefer a guy taking third team reps, behind 2 horrible QBs on one of the worst passing offenses in the country the last 3 yrs in a row.

While the other guy was coached under a competent coaching staff for 3 yrs. Oh and he happened to be the MVP of the National Championship.

Jesus Christ. Jarrett Lee was 4 star Elite 11 QB and the 7th ranked pro-style QB. McCarron....7th ranked pro style QB. Jefferson was a 4 star and 8th ranked pro style QB. So spare me the bullshite that neither of them we're anywhere the recruit that AJ was.

Lee is projected to make the Chargers practice squad. Its a paying gig.

So Cam Newton's success had little to do with coaching. He only succeeded because he was talented? Got it.

The fact is you're getting your panties bunched up your puss because LSU fans don't want AJ. We're not talking about a guy who threw 25+ touchdowns. AJ didn't set the world on fire. He accounted 16 touchdowns. 6 of which came against Auburn's God awful defense and FCS Georgia Southern. Otherwise he had 10 touchdowns in 11 games.

Ahh you got us. Because LSU's incompetent coaching staff didn't post a 13-0 regular season, win the SEC and go to the National Championship. Wait...

Offensive MVP. Like I said earlier, they have to give it to someone. 234 yards with 0TD doesn't exactly scream most valuable player. 1 of 2 offensive BCSCG offensive MVP's who didn't account for a TD. But since they do this stupid offensive/defensive MVP, it had to go to someone. The real MVP of that game lied somewhere on that defense.

LSU got to the championship last year by relying on the defense and running game where we were ultimately doomed by a lack of passing game. LSU doesn't need ZM to post huge number, only be competent. I'm certain he can post 16 touchdowns in a season. I know the notion that someone wouldn't want an Alabama guy on their team is absolutely outrageous to the gumps. Deal with it.
