The UGA job is a very good job. It could be a GREAT job for the right coach. Kirby is convinced that the Bama job is his when Saban leaves. Believes it as if it were told to him (which it may have been, I'm not sure).
He will wait until Saban retires, it becomes obvious the job is not guaranteed to be his,or he gets tired of waiting on Saban to retire.
If Saban retired at the end of the year, Richt moved on from UGA, and Kirby was offered both jobs which one do you think he takes? He would only want the UGA job under certain circumstances.
This "Kirby is such a negative recruiter" bit is ridiculous. He WENT to UGA as did his wife. He isn't in a position to negatively recruit the place and he doesn't do so. Ask Malcolm Mitchell. He was coming to Bama and communicated as much the DAY BEFORE he announced. Kirby was in his town for the announcement. MM told Kirby less than an hour before the announcement that he was going to go to UGA after telling Kirby & Saban the day before that he was going to Bama. Ask MM what Kirby said about UGA when he made that decision.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush broseph. I never said he preferred the UGA job over Bama. And who's to say that Saban doesn't coach for the next 10 years? think Kirby is gonna stick around that long? I think he is going to be gone this year or next when he gets a good HC job to show he can be a good HC, then when Saban retires he'll have a much stronger pedigree to assume the HC job at Bama.

He's in the perfect position to! HE can say "I've been to UGA, i went there, i coached with Bobo...BUT Bama is better here, here, and here." Again, every school negatively recruits to some degree, be it depth chart, championship team, or coaching, but to act like he isn't in position to negatively recruit because he WENT to Georgia is naive.

What was he supposed to do? Say "Kid you're making the biggest mistake of your life and are going to fail in future endeavors?" No, he probably wished him the best of luck and thanks for his time or somethign to that degree. If he didn't, he would've burned some bridges at a pipeline school into Georgia.

He wished him luck. What did you expect? As I am sure he wished Jenkins. Whats your point?
