The 3 sports that generate revenue are Baseball, Football, and Basketball. Arkansas has very few championships of any kind in those 3 sports since being in the SEC.

Answers have been posted on this board before and it's more than you realize.

quote:

2. Your schools endowment benefits your own school more than the SEC... winning bowl games and championships benefits the SEC. Something Arkansas does not dominate in, and your level of success could be easily replaced by another middle tier school.

Stop! Endowment was NEVER USED. You totally lost that argument. We are talking ATHLETIC REVENUE ONLY.

quote:

3. You would lose gained revenue from bowl games, since the SEC splits up the bowl revenue and divides it among the conference. And the SEC goes to more bowls and generates more bowl game revenue than any other conference.

New contracts create new laws. ABC would love for FSU and Arkansas to cut into SEC country while cutting off Mizzou and TAMU with hellish travel distances.

quote:

4. You are not a charter member and were invited to join the SEC. If you don't like it, then leave. I can guaran damn tee you we won't beg you to stay. Our conference is strong, and few schools would turn down the chance to become your replacement.

Means nothing now and you should realize this. As of today Missouri has the same voting rights as Alabama.

Really?

Just curious but what makes you think profit of the AD is that big a deal to the SEC as a whole? Do you really think Arkansas is more important to the SEC than Tennessee??

Not to hijack this fantastic thread, but allow me to guffaw for a moment at Tennessee's $14,000.

Ok. Carry on.

Technically yes. But if you don't the larger schools don't have some pull then you're ignorant.

Why do you think Bama gets to keep it's traditional rivalries and the dates of those rivalries, while Arkansas get's changed to accommodate them? As a business man you should realize there are always "under the table" deals.

Ok. And that's revenue from ticket sales and such. That only benefits Arkansas. Not the SEC... with that you are not a valuable asset to the SEC. What is valuable to the SEC is a team winning bowl games/championships, and more TV time. A team like VA Tech would do just as good as Arkansas in those areas.

The schools own revenue just helps the school improve itself.

And that chart is a little misleading because it shows who was most profitable. Arkansas did well managing their own money.

Arkansas is 7th in the SEC in gross revenue earned. You do not hold that much pull in that aspect either.
