But Mizzou, yeah, definitely wanted another school.

Way to be an arsehole.

Michigan State, Purdue, Boston College, Pitt, Army, Air Force, Miami etc. is not a weaker schedule than the remaining Big 12 schools. Notre Dame would by no means have a tougher schedule, especially if they got placed in a north division where they would have to play WVU, Iowa State, Kansas State and Kansas... every... single... year...

Well, I completely disagree with your assessment that Big 12 teams like the Oklahoma and Texas teams, West Virginia, and K-State on a good year are no better than Pitt, Purdue, BC, Army, Air Force. That's nonsense.

And, if the Big 12 went back to two divisions, North and South, then Notre Dame should jump at the chance to play in the North because they'd virtually be guaranteed to contend for a Big 12 Championship each year...which is what may happen with the college playoff scenario - Conference champions.

Dude, this is closer to reality than what you believe.

don't take it personally. When expansion talk came up there were rumors about FSU, Miami, Clemson, & VT. To me they seemed like a better fit. Especially in a dominant football conference in the southeast.
