This is from a poll taken on DailyBamaBlog dot com. I'm still partial to 92 and the whupping laid on Miami. The arrogance and shite they were talking was unreal and hasn't been rivaled since. What says the rant?
2011 43.65%
2009 14.26%
1992 17.13%
1979 5.74%
1978 2.52%
1973 1.3%
1965 2.43%
1964 1.48%
1961 9.83%
One of the five others 1.65%

I guess the bitterness from LSU fans made '11 pretty sweet.

do they think LSU is their rival or something?

I would have thought UA fans liked '09 more because of the undefeated record and 17 year drought.

eta: this is my nomination for greatest championship game. greatest championship team is a different story.

Sounds like this place after 11/5
I don't know if I'll ever witness another thrashing like that.

92 was after a long drought also. I think winning another so close after 09 plays into it. I started to say 11, just because it's the latest, but the gratification of seeing Miami slaughtered and the mouthy ones shut down was just awesome.

The ending in 1979 was epic

Definitely 92 for me. It has been a while and Miami was so unlikeable and supposedly unbeatable. Just flat out punched them in the mouth and they didn't know what to do. Didn't even bother throwing the ball at all.
This poll clearly has a time bias.

The "greatest win"? I would go with '92 miami or '25 washington.

It was worse. Way worse. Their players were going up to Bama players on Bourbon St saying, "who are you? You're nobody".

1992.
There were 10,000 people outside the stadium wanting tickets. One of the hardest sellouts I've ever seen. The Miami fans were all over the city trash talking Bama. NOBODY gave Bama a legitimate shot to win that game.

92 team was nasty in the game vs Miami

LSU isn't a rival to Bama so 2011 can't be the right answer. Pick another

I was too young to remember any of that.

We've never played a rival in a championship.
