If I had to fancy an educated guess: the UA lawyers are seeing if they have "cause" to fire him without paying him a dime.

I don't think the affair is going to bite him in the arse. It will be lying to the AD and hiring his mistress for (what appears to be) a coveted job in the Athletic Dept. Just my $.02 though.

There a slew of legal issues - just off the top of my head--

Are Arkansas authorities investigating whether or not a crime was committed? (I don't think so, because Petrino was too smart to risk that...)

Civil liability for the accident? Can she sue for injuries, in other words? (He is technically a supervisor in the athletic department.)

Civil liability for the people they didn't hire for the job she was hired for?

Can they afford to risk keeping Josh Morgan if they keep Petrino?

Can they fire her if they keep Petrino? (that is all too often the pattern in the corporate world - the lower ranked person gets canned)

Can she sue for sexual harassment? She has proof of quid pro quo.

It makes one's head spin. I'm glad we hired Miles.
