one could argue that at it's zenith, the SWC was better than the SEC....take a look at Texas' record vs Alabama and during that period ARK won 2 Sugar Bowls against the SEC CHAMP...which was SWC (#2) vs SEC (#1)...both games the Hogs dominated the SEC champ, Georgia...and Texas just whipped the Tide like a red-headed step child every time they lined up on the field...one could quickly reason why this was the case, all these wins were BEFORE total integration in the Deep South
