Decade is a category of a 10 year period you idiot.

This decade is the 10's, for example we are currently in and before that was 00's and so forth. No one uses your scale of 02'-11' is a decade

2002 through 2011 is a decade. Any ten years is. The "last decade" generally refers to 10 years back from the present. If you want to refer to the decade in which all the years share the same number in the tens position (e.g. 2000 through 2009), you usually refer to that multiple of 10 (e.g. the 00s), not the "last decade".

Do people just bust into threads without reading it first?

It's obvious everyone here knows what a decade is but he's completely wrong on common usage especially related to sports decades.

What decade did the Arkansas team play in from 02'-11' considering what's over a span of 2 decades associated with the dictionary. That team can't be in the 00's and 10's decades so what the hell is that decade called? The 02'-11' decade?

Come on you aren't going to drink beer and say remember the 02'-11's decade that was a great decade, ha.

Real conversation... "Remember the 90's?" "Yeah.. Damn we sucked in that decade minus one good year 1998."
