The biggest that they'll expand to is 16 teams with 11 automatic bids for the conferences and five at-large bids but I don't see that happening for a long time. It took 46 years for the NCAA tournament field to expand from 8 teams to 64 teams and the NCAA tournament didn't give out at-large bids for the first 35 years.

How has DeLoss Dodds not already called this dumb frick out? 2008 Texas would have been in a plus one (along with OU) while this plan they still get left out. Funny how the conference that wrote the book on sending non conference champions to the BCS title game is the one crying now

Doesn't matter, 12,16 or 24, it is still a huge increase over the original four that is being proposed. The increase will happen, not a matter of if but when.
