That Bear Bryant left them and came to Bama??? Were they ever pissed?

I know it's been almost 6 decades, but you are in the SEC now.

Just curious and SIAP....

Most TAMU fans don't even remember Bear coaching there.

Is it a slow day in Gump land?

Bama is the only ones who give two shits about Bear Bryant.

Who cares about someone who is worm food and hasn't caoched a game if 30+ years.

Here's a question

What do a maggot and a Bama fan have in common?

They both live off dead bears. :rimshot:

Seems like a slow day in general on the SECR.

I'm very bored with what I'm reading.

FWIW, a large portion of Alabama fans probably don't remember him coaching at Alabama. Died in 1983, today's freshmen would have been... an egg at that point. You're going to have to be around 35 to have seen him coach a game and be old enough to remember it.

Eh, coaches move regularly except for Joe Pa and Bowden.

As this was a popular joke in the early part of the last decade (pre-Franchione), the correct punchline is "They can both live off a dead bear for 20 years".

Bear is still very much a part of Aggie football lore. The Junction boys are engrained as legend here. I am more pissed that we were unable/unwilling to try to keep him.

I wouldn't say people are pissed about it, but people do like to play the "what if" game about if he had stayed here for some reason. We do the same thing over if we had successfully pulled Bo Schembechler from Michigan, which were supposedly very close to doing in the early 80's I believe. The Junction Boys will always be a big part of our football history.
