There you have it. But I'm not sure why y'all are all over Kerry Stevenson on this. I know you want to find some advantage over Nick Saban on the recuriting trail and want dirt on him. I'm sorry a kid's high school coach refuses to give you a negative sound byte.

We're all over him on this because it comes across as the guy is letting his Bama fandom overcome standing up for one of his players. The kid was an emotional wreck, the coach alluded to it one day, and two days later is saying it's not his problem because DP "isn't my kid".

I've said several times on here that this will be ancient history and a non-issue within a week.

I'd say it was less of a negative sound bite for me, and a more protective sound bite for one of his players that I would expect to see. Even if Chizik did this, I would expect the coach to express his disdain for how the situation went down. Something tells me that if that situation had occurred, Stevenson might be a little more forthcoming to the media with how he felt.

I just find it interesting that he made a comment right after it happened, then two days later we get this:
Scarbinsky: OK. Now what's his perspective on what happened?

"I don't have a perspective," he said.

Scarbinsky: Could Stevenson explain when Alabama asked Philon to grayshirt?

"I can't tell you that," the coach said.

Scarbinsky: But Philon is one of his players.

"It's not my child."

It's pretty obvious he was told not to talk to the media about this, or else....
If he had said something right after it happened like: "I'm not sure what was said to Philon, you'll have to ask Saban or his family," then I'm OK with that. The way it went down seems very very fishy.
